About

My path into software started with embedded systems: sensors, microcontrollers, and the kind of programming where a wasted cycle actually matters. That discipline carried over when I moved to the web, and it still shapes how I build today.

Over the past 8+ years, I've grown from writing frontend code to leading it: designing micro-frontend architectures, setting up the CI/CD pipelines that ship them, and mentoring the developers who maintain them. I'm just as comfortable in a Node.js service or a PostgreSQL schema as I am in a component library, which makes me a useful bridge between frontend and backend teams rather than a specialist who only sees half the system.

I'm currently applying that same systems-first curiosity to AI engineering: agents, retrieval, and the tooling that makes developers faster, not just the frontend that sits on top of it.

Experience

Eight years, five companies, one throughline: frontend systems built to last.

iObeya · 2022 - Present

VMS - Micro-frontend Visual Management Platform

iObeya needed a new visual management product built on an architecture that could scale across multiple independent teams without becoming a monolith.

Designed and led the implementation of a micro-frontend architecture, paired with a shared Vue.js component library and a centralized, state-machine-driven event system.

  • Independent team ownership of feature domains
  • Reusable component library adopted across products
  • Centralized event handling via finite state machines

Architecture & engineering

What sets the work apart from frontend-only development.

Micro-frontend architecture

Designed and implemented micro-frontend architectures that let independent teams ship features without stepping on each other's code, most recently for iObeya's VMS product.

Component libraries

Built and maintained internal Vue.js component libraries, giving product teams a shared, consistent UI foundation instead of one-off implementations.

State management at scale

Replaced ad-hoc event handling with finite-state-machine-driven systems using XState, making complex UI behavior predictable, testable, and easier to reason about.

CI/CD & delivery

Set up GitLab CI pipelines automating deployment and static analysis, removing manual steps from the release process.

Full-stack fluency

Comfortable across the stack, from Node.js, Express, and Sails backends to PostgreSQL and MongoDB data models, which grounds frontend architecture decisions in how the whole system behaves.

Cloud & containers

Works with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS (Cognito, S3) to deploy and operate the systems he architects.

Technical leadership

Runs code reviews, mentors junior developers, and leads sprint planning, treating team growth as part of the job rather than a side effect of it.

Expanding into AI engineering.

After years of building the systems developers and users interact with directly, I'm now applying the same engineering rigor to AI: how agents are built, how context is engineered, and how developer tools built on top of LLMs actually hold up in practice.

This is active, hands-on learning built on top of 8+ years of production engineering experience, not a pivot away from it.
